1930s Black Lacquered Mother Of Pearl Abalone Hinged Jewelry Box w/ Red Velvet 


Stunning 1930''s black lacquer high gloss finish jewelry/ trinket box with Mother of Pearl / Abalone inlays.


Features beautiful foliage scene with floating butterflies on the lid.


Inside has multi-compartment storage with another beautifully decorated hand painted lid for smaller jewelry and trinkets. 


Large mirror on underside of lid. No damage to mirror. Excellent condition.


Inside the box, the second hinge is missing both of the screws (photographed) however the hinge itself is still fully intact, and fully functional. The missing screws on the hinge does not allow the lid to sit flush in it''s current condition (photographed) If these screws were to be replaced, the lid would return to it''s intended position and sit flush against the box once again.


The black lacquer has cracking due to the age of the item (photographed) estimated to be roughly 90 years old!
